Diety (the “Service”) is an app that helps users keep daily weight records alone or together with members in a Room. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Service.

By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use and your settings, the Service may collect the following information:

Account information: user ID, email address, sign-in method, account creation date, preferences, and related settings
Profile information: display name, icon, Room color, and other information you choose to provide
Health-related records: weight, body fat percentage, height, record date and time, goals, stamps, notes, and aggregated information needed for graphs and progress views
Information from Health integrations: if you grant permission, weight, body fat percentage, height, and other health-related data you allow the Service to read from Apple Health or similar health features on your device
Room sharing information: Room name, invite code, members, records shared in the Room, and activity shown inside the Room
Messages and shared content: notes, stamps, messages, and other content shared with records or displayed in a Room
Notification information: notification settings, notification tokens, and device information needed to send notifications
Support information: name or display name, email address, inquiry details, and support history
Usage and device information: app interactions, screen views, crash information, device type, OS, app version, IP address, approximate region, advertising identifiers or similar identifiers, and information collected through cookies or similar technologies

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

To provide the Service, authenticate users, maintain sign-in status, and manage accounts
To record weight, body fat percentage, height, and related data; show graphs; manage goals; provide Health integration; and sync data
To create Rooms, invite members, manage members, and share records or messages in Rooms
To send reminders, important notices, support messages, and other notifications
To respond to inquiries, investigate issues, and provide user support
To analyze usage, improve quality, develop new features, and investigate crashes
To display ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud or abuse
To prevent, investigate, and respond to violations of the Terms, unauthorized access, harassment, spam, or other inappropriate use
To comply with laws, regulations, or requests from public authorities

Health Integrations

Health integration is optional. The Service only accesses the health-related data that you permit on your device, such as weight, height, body fat percentage, and other health-related data from Apple Health or similar health features. The data may be used for automatic entry, graph display, and data synchronization.

If you grant permission, the Service may also write, update, or delete weight, height, body fat percentage, and other health-related data in your device’s health features when you record, update, or delete that data in Diety.

Records imported into the Service through Health integration may be visible to other members of the same Room if you join a Room, depending on the Room settings and what information is selected for sharing.

Information obtained through Health integration is not used for advertising purposes. You can change or revoke permissions at any time from your device settings or in-app settings. Records already saved to the Service before permission is revoked may remain in the Service until you delete them or delete your account.

If you join a Room, information selected for sharing, such as weight records, body fat percentage, stamps, notes, messages, and profile information, may be visible to other members of the same Room.

People who receive an invite code or invite link may be able to join the Room and view information shared there. Please handle invite codes and shared content carefully.

Third-Party Services

The Service may use third-party services for app operation, data storage, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, advertising, and related purposes. These service providers may collect and use information according to their own privacy policies.

Third-party services may include:

Firebase, including Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Messaging
Google Analytics for Firebase
Firebase Crashlytics
Google AdMob
Apple Health and similar health-related features provided by the device or operating system
External services related to the App Store, Google Play, email delivery, and support operations

Advertising

The Service may display ads through Google AdMob or similar advertising services. Advertising providers may use advertising identifiers, device information, and usage information to display ads, measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and provide personalized ads.

You may be able to reset advertising identifiers or limit personalized ads through your device settings or settings provided by advertising providers.

Analytics and Crashlytics

The Service may use Google Analytics for Firebase to analyze usage and Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash and error information. This information is used to improve app quality, respond to issues, and improve features.

Disclosure to Third Parties

We do not disclose personal information to third parties except in the following cases:

With your consent
When disclosure to service providers, such as cloud hosting, analytics, advertising, or support vendors, is necessary to operate the Service
When information is shown to other users as part of features you choose to use, such as Room sharing
When required by law or by a lawful request from a public authority
When necessary to protect the life, health, safety, or property of users or others
When necessary to respond to violations of the Terms or unauthorized use

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, destruction, alteration, and leakage. However, due to the nature of internet communications and cloud services, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Retention and Deletion

We retain user information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or as required by law. You may request confirmation, correction, or deletion of registered information, or delete your account through the in-app settings or by contacting us.

When you delete your account, personal data will be deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period. However, certain information may be retained for a limited period where necessary for backups, legal compliance, abuse investigations, accounting, audits, or similar purposes.

Minors

Users who are minors should use the Service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make important changes, we will notify users through the app, website, or another appropriate method. By continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect, you agree to the updated Privacy Policy.
